The Friendship Stone Partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters

Past Women Entrepreneurs-The Secrets of Success radio show guest, Cathy Raff of My Stone Company recently announced a partnership with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization (the nation’s largest donor-supported volunteer mentoring network for youth).

The My Stone Company, creators of The Friendship Stone, will donate 20% of net sales from all purchases of the Power of Two stone packages bought on the joint website, back to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

15% of the 20% will go to the local Big Brothers Big Sisters agency based on the purchaser’s zip code. In addition, My Stone Company will donate $2,200 annually to cover the expenses for successful matches of “Bigs” and “Littles.” The company also donated hundreds of The Power of Two Stone Packs to promote stronger connections between Bigs and Littles and highlight the partnerships. The Power of Two Friendship Stone is a gift package consisting of two Friendship Stones, two embroidered pouches, and one blank gift card for one’s personal story of friendship.

Meant to be given away, The Friendship Stone is a keepsake and tangible reminder that the one who gave it is always there for the receiver.

“We are proud to be associated with Big Brothers Big Sisters,” Cathy says. "The bond of friendship is one of the most valuable gifts of life. We believe every person, both young and old needs and deserves to know they have someone to look up to, someone who supports them and appreciates them. We hope that the Power of Two Friendship Stones will enhance the relationships of Bigs and Littles and inspire people to learn how they can support Big Brothers Big Sisters.”

Sounds like a great partnership.

For some inspiration and perspective on the difference that Big Brothers/Big Sisters makes in the lives of kids, check out these two short videos -- and -- about the "aha moments" of two special people who are dedicated to this great organization and the kids it serves.
