7 Health Hacks to Use When You're Working

by Deborah A Bailey

Whether you're running a business full-time, part-time or still in the workplace (preparing for your leap into business ownership) it's easy to push yourself too hard.

There are only so many hours in the day, but we're good at stretching those hours as much as possible.

Thing is, if you burn yourself out, you won't be able to get anything done. So, here are some tips to help you to stay healthy while you work.

Relax after a long working day - sometimes when you've got a lot on your list to accomplish, you want to keep pushing even when your body (and mind) want rest. Give yourself a chance to unwind and recharge. It's hard to stay productive if you're exhausted.

Take frequent breaks - I set the timer on my phone to remind me to break away from my work. Whether it's a break for coffee/tea/water, a quick walk, meditation or whatever you like to do best. Especially if you work at a desk and sit for long periods of time, it's important to move your body and break away from your task at regular intervals.

Keep a journal - use a notebook, your mobile device or computer to jot down your thoughts and feelings at the end of the day. Some people keep gratitude journals so they can take stock of what they have and what they've accomplished. Especially if you're a creative person, writing can help to clear your mind and get the ideas flowing.

Stay hydrated - have trouble drinking your water? I do too! :) But I'm in the habit of taking a glass of water into my home office when I work (and when I'm in the workplace I do that same thing). Add lemon if you want to give it some flavor.

Take a walk - when it comes to walking, you can do it just about anywhere. Add steps to your day when and where you can, and you'll be much more refreshed.

Keep healthy snacks handy - this is a big one! Workplace snack machines (and cafeterias) can be danger zones when you get hungry. But if you plan ahead, you can have plenty of healthy snacks on hand to reach for instead. Don't get stuck having to grab a high-sugar or high-fat snack because it's the only thing available.

Take the stairs - if you can use the stairs instead of the elevator, by all means do so. In my last workplace, I used the stairs all the time when I was coming in and leaving for the day. If you're working from home (and have stairs) use them to get some extra steps in during the day. When it comes to exercise, a little bit can go a long way.

How Inspiration Leads to Success

by Chris Atley

When we’re inspired, we can truly create anything. It literally changes our perspective from a glass half empty to a glass half full. We are inspired to dream big and do big! Life is exciting! We feel unstoppable – like we can change the world.

It’s these feelings that fuel us forward. It’s this inspiration that drives us to achieve big goals and do great things. It’s in this place that we need to stay and operate from.

When we live in an inspired place, we can also see with total clarity how our past experiences shaped who we are today. None of our experiences are bad. They either show us when we’re getting off course or when we’re on track. Either way, they always serve as a lesson in taking us to the next level. Would we have chosen to sometimes learn the lesson in a different way? Sure. The reality though is our experiences were stepping stones to get us to where we are today. When we look at things with a positive perspective, we can see every lesson we learned and how helpful it was in our growth.

The other great aspect with being inspired is that we have more faith. We have a stronger ability to trust that we will live our purpose and achieve the goals we want to achieve. This is vital for actually doing it. When we know our success is certain, we can focus on being of service to others and living our purpose. Abundance then follows. Pretty amazing right?

how inspiration leads to success

Becoming and staying inspired may take a little work. If you need help getting inspired think about movies and books you love, and analyze why. There will likely be some hidden gems in there about what is important to you.

Once you know what inspires you, connect with that every day. I like to call this our bigger “why.” Why are you in business? Is it to make a difference in the lives of others? Is it about giving back to a cause you feel strongly about? Is it about providing a wonderful life for your family? For me it’s about having the freedom to create whatever I desire and showing others how to do the same. This fuels me forward. This is in the forefront of my mind every single day. This inspires me.

In terms of staying inspired, set yourself up for success by creating an environment that enables you to thrive. Surround yourself with like-minded people who lift you up and make you feel good. Read or listen to books that motivate and inspire you. Take time for yourself to make sure you’re really feeling good. Uplift yourself in whatever way works for you. Stay in this place as often as you can, and make decisions from this and only this place.

Should I Put What I Know Into a Book?

by Lisa Sasevich

If you're an expert who is wanting to get out there and coach with your work and help people, it's a smart strategy to put what you know into a book.

However, since my blessing is to give everything a look through a sales conversion perspective, I'm going to give you some advice that you won't hear from a traditional publishing professional, who sees your book as the end product.

If you facilitate transformation for your clients, your book isn't the end product. In fact, it's just the beginning. And, as such, it should be a tantalizing promise to your ideal clients of just how amazing your work actually could be for them, while also including some tangible ways to get started experiencing the transformation you offer right away.

That's why I say don't just pour everything you know into your book, because that can hurt your ability to help people in a bigger way.

Why is that?

Well, the truth is, most people will opt for the lowest level of commitment, which is likely to be your $19 book. So if they read your book and you've thrown everything in it, without leading to an Irresistible Offer™, your readers are going to think the book represents everything you can do for them, and they will have no reason to go any deeper with you.

Therefore, instead of helping you to build your business while establishing your expertise, your book would actually be standing in the way of all the additional help you could give your clients in your office or course or through your coaching.

That's definitely not the result you want from your book! So what do we recommend instead?

When you write your book, as our Speak-to-Sell talk structure lays out, we think it's smarter to dive deeply into one piece of what you teach, really give people some immediate value so that they can see changes in their life, business, etc., right away; and then make sure to show them how they can work with you further or take it further through a well-defined path that you lay out.

This idea is called reverse engineering, or, another way to say it is, building your book with the end in mind.

For example, when I wrote Position Yourself for Online Sales Success: How to Use Your Phone and Computer to Finally Set Yourself Free! I didn't share the entire content of my 6 Figure Teleseminar and Webinar Sales System. I shared the content of one module plus a meaty bonus.

I made sure to reverse engineer my book so that it led to my Irresistible Offer, while, at the same time, allowing the book to stand alone with the deep level of content and teaching that it offers to set the reader on their path in a powerful way.

When you structure your book this way, you're working with it to give your ideal clients a very powerful and immediately useful appetizer, and then showing them the path to having the whole meal.

This is the key to your book being not just inspirational but having the potential to be truly transformational as well.

If you'd like to take this idea one step further and actually start writing your book, check out Hay House's free video series on how to become a successful author, which promises to be transformational as well. Watch video 1 "Insider Tips for Becoming a Published Author" here.

How to Create More Clarity and Consistency in Your Business

by Sydni Craig-Hart

Creating a successful business is a simple, step-by-step process that anyone can follow.

Of course, there will be challenges along the way. You may make a few mistakes - I know that I have! I have literally made every mistake that an entrepreneur can make - but it hasn't stopped me from being successful.

In fact, I think I'm more successful because of some of the mistakes I've made. Learning from them taught me priceless lessons I wouldn't have learned otherwise.

It's been proven time and again that as long as you stay focused on your goals and do the right things consistently, you can create your version of a successful business.

Here are three simple keys that you can use to create more success in your business NOW:

Get clear - What does business success means to YOU? If you try to follow some "guru's" version of success, you're going to end up disappointed. Don't get caught up trying to create someone else's dream.

Break your dream down into smaller goals that you can easily achieve. How many clients will you need? How much money needs to be coming into your business? How much time do you need to devote to your business in order to produce those results?

Getting clear will help you minimize distractions and say no to opportunities that aren't the right fit. It will free you up to spend your time, money and energy on what is truly important to you.

Get organized - If you want to create more success in your business, start with organizing your marketing efforts in a plan. Outline what you want to accomplish on a monthly basis so you can break down those goals into easy to implement action steps.

Review the resources you already have and secure the resources that you need. You'll also need to get organized with your time. Make an appointment with yourself to complete your marketing activities each week (or each day) and treat it just like it was your favorite, highest paying client.

Be consistent - It's very easy to let marketing fall by the wayside and only think about it when you need to increase your income. A steady stream of new leads can only come from consistent marketing.

In order to stay consistent, it's best to focus on just a FEW key marketing strategies at a time. Hone in on those strategies and do them week in and week out. Consistency builds trust, credibility and strong relationships. It makes it easier for people to say yes to your solutions.

Trying to tackle video marketing, blogging, social media, speaking, networking, direct mail AND email marketing all at one time will only lead to overwhelm and frustration. Just pick two to three strategies, create systems for them and WORK your plan each and every day.

With these three keys, you can create more success in your business starting TODAY. Once you clarify your unique vision for your business, get organized, collect the right resources and create a consistent marketing plan, you'll be able to increase your income and experience more freedom.

Your Action Plan For This Week:

  •     Get clear on your vision for your business. Write down a short paragraph that outlines exactly what you want to experience with your business.
  •     How much money do you want to make? How many clients will you need to have to get there? How much time will you need to spend on your business in order to see the results you want?
  •     Write it all down so you can refer to it later.
  •     Get organized. Outline what you want to accomplish on a monthly basis for the next 3-6 months. Then break these monthly goals into daily and then weekly steps so you know exactly what to do and when.
  •     Get consistent. Plan out the two to three marketing activities that you'll use on a regular basis and then create systems so you can follow through with your plans.
